This is a photo series inspired by a John Waters interview he did on NPR on the release of one of his books, where he said you can always find something to shock people with. At the time, I was also noticing while walking our dog, just the weird things people would throw out, or the ways they put stuff out to trash. Or maybe just the weird things that would "appear" in the neighborhood, or be left just laying around, like the phenomenon of randomly appearing shopping carts. I also find a mutual interest -- like many artists -- in the random, unintentional, art created by a city's inhabitants and workers, like the oddly non-objective happenstance of grafitti cover-ups. This is an on-going series that I add to as the circumstances arise. Some photos I've taken with my iPhone, and probably should only be printed up to 8" x 10". Others, taken with a Sony α7R, can be printed much larger.
